Early Life & Heritage

Reverend Chris Okotie was born on the 16th of June, 1958 to the family of Francis Idje and Cecilia Okotie in Delta State. He had his primary education in Lagos and proceeded to Edo College in Benin. He rose to become Nigeria's most celebrated pop star in 1980 with his debut album, 'I Need Someone.'

The Savour of Salvation

At the peak of his career in 1984, he abandoned show business to complete his law studies. During this period, he encountered the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and became born-again. In 1985, in obedience to a divine call, he proceeded to Bible school in Tulsa, Oklahoma, returning in 1986 to launch THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD FELLOWSHIP in 1987.

The Move to Oregun

By 1990, the church location in his house could no longer be sustained as membership grew to several thousands. After a prolonged search and by divine direction, a factory in Oregun, Ikeja was found. The ministry held its first service there on the 19th of December, 1992, coinciding with the day of GRACE 1992.

This site and the surrounding land became a target of faith, and today the ministry owns a vast expanse of land in the area by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Prophetic Pen

In 1999, Reverend Chris Okotie wrote the iconic best-selling novel, THE LAST OUTCAST, published in 2002. The manuscript was written during a retreat under divine instructions, receiving rave reviews and exposing the hand of the Lord upon him to a global audience.

The Silver Citadel & Character

Right now, the ministry is building the SILVER CITADEL, a new seven-storey facility to house the Children's Church. Beyond infrastructure, he has instituted fellowship platforms like the joint celebration of monthly birthdays (est. 2005) to foster creativity and community.

In 2006, he created the Queen Esther beauty pageant based on inspiration from the Lord, projected to correct global perceptions of beauty by focusing on representation of biblical characters and values.

Karis & Grace Evolution

The KARIS AWARD, which honors Nigerians who impacted the nation without government recognition, now carries a cash prize of two million naira. It continues to be a profound expression of the ministry's commitment to honor and benevolence.
